Vino & Formaggio | A Day In Tuscany

Your driver and personal sommelier/guide will pick you up at your place in the morning. First you will visit a Montepulciano winery where you'll get the chance to delve into the Vino Nobile world. A guided stroll through the streets to the center of the city will let you appreciate this amazing hilltop town.

Montepulciano, first settled by the Etruscans, is a real jewel; so many art treasures, outstanding noble palaces and churches not to be missed at all!!

Nice lunch in a typical Trattoria, good local dishes according to the season: hand made "pici" pasta or "ribollita" vegetable soup or Risotto. Bruschetta, some fresh Mozzarella.. and much more!!

In the afternoon we will head for Pienza "the ideal town" of the Pope Pius II created in the 1400's. It is one of the most interesting UNESCO sites! Later we will visit a dairy farm. Pienza is also known for the delicious "pecorino", a kind of sheep's milk cheese locally produced. You will meet the owner who will show you how the Pecorino cheese is made and then aged in different ways. Of course we won't miss a generous tasting of several Pecorino cheeses and Ricotta topped with a few drops of dark chestnut honey!
