This experience is expecially tailored for those who want to learn the difference between organic and conventional wine + food. Montepulciano has many wineries and several farms still using the traditional local growing techniques and you will enjoy a wide range of totally green and susteinable local products.

Your driver and personal guide/sommelier will pick you up at your place in the morning and drive you to the first organic farm where you'll get the chanche to learn about the wine making process and about all the rules a wine must respect to be certified "organic". Your next stop will be... in the forest!!! let's have fun on a small Fiat Panda across the fields searching for the black haired Cinta Senese, and ancient hardy breed of lean pig which has almost run into extinction. The pigs live inside huge enclosures in the woods, free to dip, move and eat whatever they find. Some cute puppies are sometimes visible!

At the end you will enjoy a delicious tasting on a panoramic terrace: various organic cured meats made with this special kind of pork and, of course, a beautifully green Extra Virgin Olive Oil and a delicious organic wine.Next stop is a romantic top-hill little village. Let's stroll for a while among stone houses, flowering balconies, narrow alleys and breathtaking views of the Orcia Valley. Lunch in a typical Trattoria which sources local foods for their yummy dishes.

In the afternoon we will reach a dairy farm where le local organic Pecorino cheese is produced. The owner will take us around the estate and into the lab to see how they make this cheese. He will let you taste many differently aged cheeses as well as their wonderful Extra Virgin organic Olive Oil.On the way back to Montepulciano a quick stop to taste one of the best plum jams of the region!. Montepulciano grows a particular kind of blue plum, very juicy and fragrant and this producer still makes the jam using NO added sugar or preservatives.
